Pioneer App Radio
The Pioneer app radio from Pioneer Electronics Corp is a recent device electronic that has debuted in full storm. This is one radio that I have been waiting for some time now.
It is an iOS operating system in dash car radio that connects the AppRadio to the multitude of Apple apps in the iTunes store and interfaces with the Apple iPhone 4 and the iPhone 5 as well.
Running this app radio in an automobile is a breakthrough it seems for radio audio future. Does the Pioneer App Radio meet or break expectations? The convenience factor and connectivity of applications running in your car with a big video screen is neat.

Info About Pioneer App Radio
Right now however, Pioneer App Radio only seems to run a handful of apps (update) this is now running many more apps from Apple iTunes appstore.
Lets look at the setup of this radio in your cars audio sound system. Simple as connecting your iPhone 4th gen or 5th gen with the 30-pin connector module, push a few buttons, and your good to go.
Choose from radio, apps or your iPod or iPhone phone options thru the interface of the Pioneer App Radio.
The multitouch touchscreen is responsive and large and brightly lit as well. It is a capacitive display touch screen.
It does not have any physical buttons on the Pioneer App Radio, which is nice and at the same time bad, for people that need to get used to it.
The apps scroll in the menu and menus on the screen, choosing the one to startup. Switching apps and functions is easy as well. Zooming using the Apple function of pinching and reverse pinching is standard, nothing new to learn here.
Pioneer App Radio Tips
When the Pioneer App Radio 1st came out, the apps were limited, now however there are many more apps to choose from that interface with the app radio from pioneer.
The original four apps that came with the Pioneer App Radio were, Radio, Motion-x-gps drive, Pandora and Inrix, a combo of music apps, GP app and traffic apps which are nice for the automobiles drivers out there.
The apps were chosen with an eye for driver safety, you are driving after all! The touchscreen and controls controlling the apps are all very nice and intuitive.
In drive mode, with Pandora for instance, you cannot setup a new station and other function features while driving.
Pioneer App Radio
So in all, this functions as a large in dash in car GPS nav unit with a very nice built-in active traffic monitoring for the car and frequent driver helping to navigate you with an iphone app radio.
This also has a built-in Bluetooth and hands free operation to access your iPhone as well with on screen technology with iPhone car radio..
This compares well with the Avic F900BT model in car radio or the Mimics, though it is a bit slower but still fast enough for many with full features on the Pioneer App Radio.
Playing mp3’s is a snap, after all it is a radio playing your music at the bitrate you have on your songs.
This sounds as good as the bit rate set for your music, so storage is not an issue here.
The 7 inch screen is very nice for the car for a larger resolution screen and more room to browse for larger fingers on the touch screen as well.
Overall the review on the Pioneer App Radio is mixed, I would say that it is a good unit, with some work to go to make it appeal to everyone out there.
There are many people that are looking for a better version concept of the Pioneer App Radio, but this fills the bill quite nicely in my opinion and should be worthy of consideration, go ahead and check it out with your iphone or iPod hookups.
